David Copperfield is the main character of the novel, but he isnot the hero of the novel.David, a parentless child born in a little village in VictorianEngland is deeply attached to his spawn and his nurse Peggotty. Hisworld turns whirligig down when his mother marries a man by the name ofMurdstone. The infliction that his stepfather and his murdering woman of asister inflict upon David leads to his untimely loss of innocence.David is send to Salem House a school where he is forced to workunder the brutal regime of Mr. Creakle. Soon he loses his belovedmother and is provided for by his stepfather to work as a labourerat a warehouse in London.
